    Hello.

    I want to buy a cheap DS708, it is new but has no SD card so I can't access the REGISTER PASSWORD screen on the device.
    How can i know if this scanner can be used or not? I only have the serial number but can't register it.
    How do I know if the device still has an active subscription for updates?

    Simply, do NOT by the device without the SD !
    It is the main part of the product.

    The Support may be able to answer some of your questions.

     Email support the DS 708 serial number and see if they can give you the unit's register password and have them check and tell you if unit has ever been registered before and whether or not the free update period is expired or not. If not , then get instructions sent on how to install a new blank SD card and copy and paste any .exe files they may need to send you.
